Know the route

One common route out of Bangkok. Every stop closes a way out. Routes into Cambodia differ.

  1. The Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge at Mae Sot

    Mae Sot, Thailand

Hours north of Bangkok, in the company's car. The "office near the border".

Way out: refuse the car. Stay in the airport and call the embassy.

  2. The Moei River, the border between Thailand and Myanmar

    The Moei River

Crossed by boat, often at night. No immigration stamp on the other side.

Way out: refuse to cross. After this there are none.

  3. KK Park scam compound in Myanmar, seen from Thailand

    KK Park, Myanmar

A scam compound, seen from the Thai bank. Passports taken, daily targets, beatings.

    No way out from here.
